Apple HomePod Safety Settings
The Apple HomePod is a digital assistant speaker that adapts to its location and delivers high-fidelity audio. There are several safety settings which can be activated for the HomePod. Together with Apple Music and Siri, it helps you discover and interact with music at home. It can help families with everyday tasks, control smart homes with just your voice. To enable parental controls, you will require an Apple ID account and the Apple device.

How to set up Apple HomePod Safety Settings
- You may need to create an Apple ID for your child that your child can sign in to any Apple device The child will need their own Apple ID also, so they can be added to your own Family group
- Setting up Family Sharing on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Go to Settings > [your name]
NOTE : If you're using iOS 10.2 or earlier, go to Settings > iCloud
- Select Get Up Family Sharing
- Now select Get Started
Setting up Screentime
- Select Continue to set up Screentime
- Select the times for which the device will be active for
- Now select the Set Downtime option to identify times when you want the device to be inactive
How to disable in-App purchases and downloads
- The Ask to Buy feature is enabled by default for all children under 13 years. This applies to all content
- Return to Settings > [your name] > Family Sharing, and select the child's name
- Flip the option to the right to activate
Setting up App limits
- Here you can set up daily time limits for all of the apps your child uses
- The Apps are arranged in categories which makes them easier to identify
- Select the specific app categories you're looking for then select the Set App Limit option
Extra tip: Disable Explicit Content
- To prevent children from accessing explicit content, select the Home Pod on your device
- Under the Music & Podcasts option you can switch the button to the left under Allow Explicit Content
