DAZN Safety Settings

DAZN logo

DAZN streams live sport, event replays and sports documentaries. Teenagers may follow a favourite team, while families may watch selected matches together. This guide explains DAZN safety settings for parents, including account protection, live chat, age restricted content and payment risks.

Begin with the event and account your family actually uses. Sports rights, subscription commitments and protective features differ by country. In particular, a youth protection PIN documented for Germany does not establish that the same control exists in Ireland.

Age Rating and Child Safety Warning

DAZN’s Irish terms require the person registering and using the service to be at least 18, or the local age of majority if older. An adult subscription is not an independent child account. The Irish Apple app rating is also 18+, but app ratings and account requirements serve different purposes.

Boxing, mixed martial arts, injuries, crowd behaviour and live language may upset children. Meanwhile, FanZone adds interaction with other viewers. A sports label does not mean a broadcast or its chat is suitable for every age.

DAZN Safety Settings and Content Restrictions

Check youth protection availability in your country

DAZN documents age verification and a four digit youth protection PIN for age restricted content in Germany. These instructions apply only where that feature is offered.

  • Open My Account and look for Youth Protection. If your country does not offer it, do not assume an adult content lock exists.
  • Where available, follow the country and identity document prompts to complete age verification.
  • Choose Set My Pin and keep the four digit PIN private.
  • To change that PIN, use Reset your PIN in Youth Protection, enter a new PIN and your DAZN password, then confirm Reset your PIN.

Why it matters: This can restrict designated adult content in supported territories. DAZN says it does not store the submitted ID or passport data for this check. Verification establishes eligibility rather than a child’s readiness, and this German process should not be treated as an Irish control.

Keep children out of FanZone

The Irish FanZone guide describes live messages, nicknames, reactions and polls. Avoiding chat is a practical viewing choice, rather than a verified account wide parental setting.

  • Choose an appropriate event with an adult present.
  • On mobile, leave Join FanZone unselected and keep viewing separate from the chat area.
  • If chat is already open, stop viewing and choose a supervised screen or player without the interactive area.
  • Do not let a child enter personal details, school information or contact handles in messages.

Why it matters: Other fans can post hostile language, links or requests to move to another app. Moderation reduces some harmful activity but cannot guarantee safe conversation.

DAZN Account, Privacy and Spending Settings

Change or recover the account password

The adult should control the account email and use a password that is unique to DAZN.

  • Sign in and open My Account.
  • Choose Profile and settings, then Profile and Password.
  • Enter the current and new passwords, then select Save password.
  • If you cannot sign in, use Send me a link, open the recovery email and select Reset Password. Enter a new password and choose Continue.

Why it matters: A private password limits unauthorised access and changes. Also secure the email account, because a person with recovery access may take control of DAZN.

Verify changes to the adult’s email address

DAZN verifies email changes with codes. Make changes yourself rather than letting a child replace the recovery address.

  • Open My Account, Profile and settings, then Profile.
  • If asked, enter the four digit code sent to your existing address and choose Verify email.
  • Enter the existing and new addresses, then choose Save.
  • Use Send me a code to verify the new address and complete the prompts.

Why it matters: Keeping recovery information current helps you respond to suspicious activity. Never send verification codes to someone claiming to offer tickets, refunds or free streaming.

Check subscriptions and cancel through the correct provider

Monthly payments can belong to a longer minimum commitment. Separate event purchases and add ons may carry additional charges.

  • Open My Account and read the plan, commitment, renewal date and any additional purchases.
  • For a subscription bought directly from DAZN, choose Cancel Membership and complete the confirmation prompts.
  • Check the confirmed end date. Irish monthly plans without an initial term can require 30 days’ notice, while minimum commitments have different conditions.
  • If Apple, Google or another provider bills you, cancel through that provider and retain confirmation.

Why it matters: Uninstalling an app does not cancel billing. Similarly, a suspension can restart automatically. Protect the device’s purchase approval settings and let the adult make all payment decisions.

Report abusive chat and review privacy

DAZN offers reporting and support for interactions. Its privacy notice also explains marketing, cookies and data requests.

  • Use the reporting option shown beside the harmful interaction, where available. Keep relevant evidence without replying or sharing it publicly.
  • If you cannot find a report option, open official DAZN Help and choose Chat with Us. Describe the event, time and concern.
  • Read the Irish Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice before allowing personalised advertising or marketing.
  • For an unused free account, use Close my account. For paid accounts, resolve cancellation and outstanding commitments first.

Why it matters: A report helps moderation respond but does not guarantee immediate removal. Account closure and data erasure are different requests, and some records may need to be retained.

How to Use DAZN Safely

Plan the event and finishing time before starting. Late matches can interrupt sleep, and automatic recommendations may extend viewing. Device screen time controls can support an agreed routine, but they do not provide DAZN content classification.

Review the devices using the adult account and ask DAZN support about unfamiliar access. Device limits depend on the plan and country. Test access on each television or phone rather than relying on one screen’s settings.

Essential Safety Advice and Current Concerns

Be cautious with ticket scams, unofficial streaming links and messages promising a free premium plan. Open the official service yourself rather than following a stranger’s payment link. Never share passwords or verification codes.

If a child sees an injury or receives a threatening message, stop the stream and listen calmly. Help them report the issue. Use CODA’s support links for further help when a concern involves bullying, coercion or contact outside the platform.

Platform Support and Regional Differences

Irish sports rights, travel access and plan features differ from other countries. Eligible EEA portability does not mean worldwide access. Check your own plan before travelling or buying an event.

No Irish child profile, content filter or family timer is established by the sources linked here. Use supervised viewing and device access restrictions where the service does not provide a suitable verified control. Recheck the installed player after updates.

DAZN Safety Settings Checklist

  • Keep ownership, email recovery and purchases with an eligible adult.
  • Assess the event, live language and possible injuries.
  • Avoid FanZone for children and explain stranger contact risks.
  • Check the actual country’s age protection before relying on a PIN.
  • Confirm subscription commitments and cancellation dates.

Questions about DAZN Safety Settings

Does DAZN have the same PIN in Ireland and Germany?

The German youth protection guide is territory specific. It does not prove the same PIN is offered to Irish accounts.

Why it matters: Check your actual account and ask local support before relying on this restriction.

Is FanZone just part of watching sport?

FanZone includes interaction with other fans, rather than only video playback.

Why it matters: Treat chat as a separate safety decision and keep children out of unmoderated or unsuitable exchanges.
