Clash of Clans Safety Settings

Clash of Clans logo

Clash of Clans safety settings help parents review Supercell’s village building and strategy game. Players develop a base, attack opponents and cooperate through Clans and other social spaces.

For children and teenagers, playing with friends can offer enjoyment, shared goals and a sense of progress. However, communication, spending and pressure to keep playing need separate attention. This guide explains the documented controls and their limits, alongside practical choices for families.

Age Rating and Child Safety Warning

The Irish Apple listing currently rates Clash of Clans 13+. This is an Apple content rating, rather than a PEGI rating or a minimum account age. Check the exact store, edition and device before deciding whether the game suits your child.

For parents, cartoon artwork does not establish that every conversation or purchase suits a child. Supercell’s terms require a legal guardian to review and agree for a player below the age of majority. Enter the child’s real age, and review the resulting Young Player restrictions. Do not use an adult age to unlock unavailable features.

Young Player protections include stronger text filtering, restricted group access and limits on personalised offers. However, they do not establish the identity of other players. Check each social space separately, even when its name includes Family Friendly.

Clash of Clans Parental Controls and Restrictions

Set up Supercell ID Family together

For a Young Player connecting to Supercell ID for the first time, the current family setup involves both child and adult. Keep the adult’s email secure.

  • In the child’s game, tap Supercell ID and enter the parent or guardian’s email address.
  • Next, the adult opens the official email and completes its permission or adult verification instructions.
  • Then enter the supplied code in the child’s game. Review the permissions offered to the Family Manager.

Why it matters: Family setup supports the child’s account. However, rewards and permissions can vary by region. It does not provide a universal chat transcript or purchase block.

Clash of Clans parental controls for Apple purchases

For parents, approve spending before the child starts. A free download can still lead to paid items.

  • On a Screen Time managed iPhone or iPad, open Settings, then Screen Time.
  • Next, select Apps and Websites, App Store, then In-app Purchases and Blocked.

Why it matters: This covers Apple billing. However, separately check browser payments and any existing game currency.

Clash of Clans parental controls for Google Play

Similarly, set approval through the child’s supervised Google account. Keep the adult account private.

  • On your computer, open your Google family and select the child.
  • Choose Controls on Google Play, then Purchase and download approvals, Require approval for and All content.

Why it matters: Approval covers Google Play billing. Separate stores need separate checks.

Set Android time limits for Clash of Clans

Next, agree a stopping time before play. Apply the limit to the child’s supervised device.

  • Open Family Link and select the child.
  • Choose Screen time, Time limits and App limits. Select Clash of Clans, choose Set limit, set the allowance and tap Done.

Why it matters: Check the saved limit together. Another device or account may remain available.

Clash of Clans screen time settings on Apple devices

For Apple devices, first configure the child’s Screen Time through Family Sharing and protect the parent passcode.

  • In the child’s Screen Time settings, open Time Allowances. Select Games and adjust its allowance.
  • Then review Always Allowed and remove gaming exceptions you do not want.

Why it matters: This route requires iOS 27 or iPadOS 27, with compatible software across the family’s Apple devices. Older versions use different menus. Check the version specific Apple instructions.

Clash of Clans Safety Settings and Why They Matter

Clash of Clans safety settings for Clan access

First, ask a trusted adult Clan leader to review admission. Ordinary members cannot change the leader’s settings.

  • Open My Clan, then select Edit with the appropriate leader permissions.
  • For Clan Type, choose Closed or Invite only instead of Anyone can join.
  • Review who holds leadership roles and can issue invitations. If creating a new Clan for younger players, choose Family Friendly at creation.

Why it matters: Closed prevents join requests, but authorised leaders can still invite people. Similarly, invite only allows reviewed requests rather than proving a closed circle.

Review Clan filtering and Family Friendly status

Next, check both the Clan and child account. Stronger filtering reduces some unwanted text, but does not verify the people behind it.

  • Open the game’s Settings and enable the available offensive language filter.
  • Then inspect the Clan’s Family Friendly status. Use a suitable Family Friendly Clan for a Young Player.

Why it matters: Family Friendly status cannot switch back to standard. In addition, no word filter reliably identifies grooming, manipulation or every coded message.

Check Global Chat separately

Current Global Chat includes separate groups and public spaces. Therefore, Clan admission settings alone do not control these conversations.

  • Tap the left side speech bubble and open Global Chat where available. Review the child’s groups and public access.
  • For a group you own, open the top right cog. Set admission to Invite only or Ask to join.
  • When creating a group, review Family Friendly before confirming. You cannot change this choice afterwards.
  • To report a group name or description, open Group Settings and select Report beside the relevant item.
  • For a harmful message, tap it, choose Report message, then Report. Group owners can also use Kick or Ban.

Why it matters: Supercell describes differing Family Friendly eligibility rules within this article. Consequently, check the child’s actual access. Town Square remains visible automatically. Moderation and group admission cannot guarantee safe interactions.

Clash of Clans privacy settings for friends

Similarly, check the friends list independently of Clan membership. A removed connection may still share another space.

  • Tap the XP bar, select Social and choose the relevant Clash Friend. Tap Remove Friend.
  • For a Supercell ID friend, open Settings and the Supercell ID profile. Select the person, tap the Friend icon and choose Yes.

Why it matters: Different friend services need separate review. Game Center connections also require checking through the device’s Game Center account.

Clash of Clans safety settings for reporting

For parents, report threats, harassment or requests for personal information. Then help the child leave the interaction.

  • In Clan Chat, tap the harmful message and select Report.
  • For a harmful join request or another issue without a report button, open Settings, then Help & Support and contact support.

Why it matters: Clan leaders can manage membership, but their action does not replace a provider report. For urgent danger, contact the appropriate emergency service.

Clash of Clans account safety settings

For eligible standard accounts, Account Protection supports recovery. Young Player accounts cannot enable this feature, so protect the adult email and device access separately.

  • Open Settings, Supercell ID and its Settings cog.
  • Under Account Protection, select Activate if eligible. Follow the phone verification prompts and store recovery codes privately.

Why it matters: Activation cannot simply be undone. Never share codes with players, reward sites or someone claiming to be a helpful friend.

Request account data or deletion

Finally, use the official support process for privacy requests. Removing the app from a device does not delete the provider’s account data.

  • Open Settings, then Help & Support and the contact option.
  • Ask for the account’s personal data or account deletion. Complete the ownership checks and review which game account the request covers.

Why it matters: A data copy goes to the linked Supercell ID email after security checks. Deletion permanently removes the game account, including progress and currency.

How to Use Clash of Clans Safely

For parents, ask your child to show you a normal session. Review who joins, what they enjoy and what makes stopping difficult. In addition, practise leaving an uncomfortable conversation without arguing or explaining personal details.

For Clash of Clans, check Clan chat and other social spaces separately. Discuss whether scheduled wars and shared tasks create pressure to stay online. Also, avoid giving a child leadership responsibility for moderating strangers or dealing with threatening players.

Similarly, agree that a game friendship never requires secrecy, private photographs, money or contact through another app. A familiar username or impressive score does not prove someone’s age or identity. Keep school, home address and daily routines out of profiles and conversations.

Essential Safety Advice and Current Concerns

Competitive pressure and daily rewards can make another session feel urgent. Therefore, agree breaks and protect sleep, meals, schoolwork and time with friends away from screens. If play repeatedly causes distress, review the pattern with your child and seek suitable support.

However, technical controls cannot judge every relationship or message. If someone threatens, manipulates or sexually pressures a child, stay calm and listen. Stop contact, preserve relevant nonsexual messages where safe and use reporting tools. Do not download or forward sexual images of children.

In Ireland, contact An Garda Síochána about suspected grooming or exploitation. In an emergency, call 112 or 999. Reassure the child that asking for help will not get them into trouble.

Platform Support and Regional Differences

For account problems, open the game’s Settings, then Help & Support and the support contact option. Describe the issue and provide the requested account details privately. Use Clash of Clans official support if the game will not open. Never publish recovery codes or receipts.

For families in Ireland, the UK and the USA, store classifications and permission screens can differ. Follow the child’s actual account prompts and the provider’s current privacy information. Parental consent, a content rating and an identity check answer different questions. None guarantees that another player is safe.

Clash of Clans safety settings for saved Apple payments

For an Apple billed purchase, review the paying Apple Account. Removing its card affects other Apple services too.

  • Open Settings on the iPhone or iPad and select the account holder’s name.
  • Select Payment & Shipping, then Edit.
  • Next, select the Delete button beside the payment method and Remove to confirm.

Why it matters: Apple may require a payment method for subscriptions, an unpaid balance or purchase sharing. Use Apple’s payment removal help if removal is unavailable. Do not disable family protections just to remove a card.

Clash of Clans safety settings for saved Google payments

For Google Play billing, check the purchasing Google account. A browser checkout can use a different seller.

  • On Android, open Google Play and select the Profile icon.
  • Select Payments & subscriptions, then Payment methods and More payment settings.
  • If asked, sign in to the paying account. Under the unwanted method, select Remove, then Remove again.

Why it matters: This changes that Google account’s saved payment method. It does not cancel renewal, remove another seller’s card or stop spending existing currency. Check Google’s payment instructions for device variations.

Clash of Clans safety settings for Apple refund requests

If the receipt names Apple, use Apple’s refund service. First, identify the account and the exact transaction.

  • Open Apple Report a Problem and sign in with the purchasing Apple Account.
  • Select I’d like to, then Request a refund. Choose the reason and select Next.
  • Choose the relevant purchase, then select Submit. Check the request status afterwards.
  • For shared family charges, the organiser can select the Apple Account button, then All, to find the purchase.

Why it matters: Eligibility varies by purchase and region. A request does not guarantee a refund or cancel future renewal. Use Apple’s refund guidance if a charge is missing or pending. Keep receipts private.

Clash of Clans safety settings for Google Play refund requests

For a Google Play receipt in Ireland, use Google’s EEA and UK request route. Other regions have different policies.

  • Sign in at Google Play with the account that made the purchase and select the Profile picture.
  • Select Payments & subscriptions, then Budget & order history.
  • Find the order and select Report a problem. Choose the reason, complete the refund request and select Submit.

Why it matters: Use Google’s regional refund guidance to check eligibility and support options. Refund approval, billing cancellation and purchase approval are separate. If content was not delivered, the developer can also help.

Clash of Clans safety settings for Supercell purchase help

For Supercell Store or Google billed purchase problems, use the game’s support. Check the receipt before choosing a route.

  • Open the game’s Settings, then Help & Support.
  • Select the message bubble or support contact button at the top right. Explain the purchase problem.
  • Provide the game name, account username and requested receipt with its transaction ID through the private support channel.
  • For an Apple billed purchase, use the Apple refund instructions above. Keep web store payment details separate and contact support if a stored method cannot be removed.

Why it matters: Supercell’s refund guidance distinguishes sellers and eligibility. Avoid spending disputed items while seeking help. An approved refund can remove currency or items and leave a negative balance. No universal web store card removal menu is assumed.

Clash of Clans parental controls across family devices

The game account does not replace the device’s family setup. Use the relevant instructions for each device the child actually uses.

Why it matters: Phone supervision does not automatically control a headset, console or another account. Also review that platform’s family settings. Existing balances, browser stores and external chat can remain available despite an app purchase block.

Clash of Clans Safety Settings Checklist

  • First, confirm the correct age, account, game edition and device.
  • Next, review friends, shared groups and any external messaging apps.
  • In addition, check purchases, existing currency and time limits.
  • Practise reporting and leaving an uncomfortable interaction together.
  • Finally, revisit Clash of Clans safety settings after updates or a change of device.

Clash of Clans Safety Settings Questions

Do these settings guarantee safety?

No. Settings can reduce particular risks, but another player can still lie, pressure or upset a child. Therefore, keep regular conversations alongside the controls and help the child seek support early.

Will one device setting cover every account?

No. Another device, account or billing service may follow different rules. For example, a phone purchase restriction does not establish the same protection on a computer. Check the child’s actual access after each change.
